Individual Job Contacts
Job Contacts are a subset of IPM Contact specifically selected for a Job. The purpose of Job Contacts is to provide a limited selection of contacts that can be added as recipients for any IPM Document. For most documents, to add a new recipient, the recipient must be an existing Job Contact. There are some exceptions to this rule. Transmittals provide the option of selecting either Job Contact or IPM Contacts. RFQ's only offer IPM Contacts. Other documents automatically create job contacts for example creating a Purchase order for a Supplier will add that supplier as an IPM Contact. Job Contacts can be assigned project roles and then can be retrieved based on those roles.
Job Contact Groups
Job Contact Groups can be created by manually adding a Job Contact but selecting the option "Is Group". These groups can then be added to documents in the same way as a Job Contact however they are interpreted at the time of sending a document in which case the functionality is Dynamic. If the groups are redefined over the life cycle of the project then the recipients will be added to outgoing correspondence based on the group membership at the time of sending.
